Flower Mart at Mount Vernon Place

Flower Mart is Baltimore’s annual rite of spring, as well as the oldest continuous festival in Baltimore, with its beginnings in 1911. In 2019, the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy took over the management of the festival, reviving its original mission of encouraging urban greening with flower, plant, and vegetable gardening in homes and vacant lots. This vision included a renewed emphasis on flower and plant vendors, workshops and educational lectures, and an elevated aesthetic with nods to the early days of the festival.

We’ve been thrilled to help bring the Conservancy’s vision to life, overseeing the logistics for the festival each year since 2019. With our team’s extensive experience in public events, we plan and manage the nuts & bolts of putting the festival together: the City’s permitting process, festival infrastructure (including tenting, portable restrooms, sound systems, and more), beer/wine booths, and of course the Lemon Stick stand!

On site, we manage the full festival setup, coordinate with City services and logistical vendors throughout the event, and ensure that all of the festival activities ran smoothly. It is a true team effort, with many members of our staff on site during the festival. The hard work has paid off, with lots of positive feedback from the Conservancy, festival partners, and the public. Each year we also come home with some beautiful plants for our gardens!
