Emily + Nolan

When we first met Emily and Nolan, we knew we had found our people. Their open and welcoming spirits guided their vision and decisions for their wedding, and we were so pleased to get to know them as we helped them through the wedding planning process.

The wedding weekend began with their family and wedding party arriving at Black Walnut Point Inn for their wedding weekend retreat. Emily and her sister spent the morning arranging locally-grown flowers into bud vases that she had purchased at thrift shops and vintage stores over the previous year. After the ceremony rehearsal, their guests enjoyed a crab feast on the lawn of the inn, followed by a welcome party at Eastern Shore Brewing (featuring one of their favorite Maryland snacks - Fisher’s popcorn!)

On the wedding day, Nolan and his groom’s party started the day with a Chesapeake Bay fishing tour, while Emily and her party got their hair and makeup done and enjoyed mimosas at the Inn. The vendor team got everything prepared for their waterfront ceremony and reception, and then it was time for the couple’s first look. The ceremony processional began with the groomsmen carrying in their chuppah, which they held in place during the ceremony. After everyone cried “Mazel Tov!” the guests proceeded to cocktail hour in the inn’s garden, and then to the reception under cafe lights in a soaring tent. Dinner featured smoked brisket and barbecue chicken thighs served family-style with all the sides and fixings. Guests were treated to a glorious sunset, enjoyed delicious cake and desserts, and danced with family and friends until late in the night.
